Our first night will be spent on the outskirts of Surinecocha, wrapped up in a magical blanket of stars. Rest up because the next day is the big moment: Rainbow Mountain! This is nature’s VIP zone, and trust us, no photo can do it justice. Your own two eyes are the best camera you’ll have for this unforgettable view.
But that’s just the beginning. Next, we’ll visit the Andahuaylillas cathedral—think “Dante’s Divine Comedy” meets architectural splendor. From there, it’s on to Rumi Punku, another wonder that will convince you this trip was definitely the right call.
Before we head back to Cusco, we’ll make a final stop at the wetlands of Huacarpay, where the water mirrors the landscape in dreamy watercolor tones. Take it all in, because moments like this are what memories are made of!

Day 1: Cusco - Quesiuno - Puca Pass - Anantapata – Warmisaya Pass - Surinecocha
Our journey kicks off at 4:00 a.m. as we leave Cusco in private transport, heading three and a half hours to the village of Quesiuno (4,376 m / 14,357 ft), where we’ll fuel up with breakfast. Before setting off, we’ll introduce you to our amazing trek team—chef and porter included—who’ll accompany us on this adventure.
The trek begins with a steady uphill climb, taking about three hours to reach the Puca Pass (4,870 m / 15,977 ft). Here, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of turquoise lagoons and the majestic Ausangate snowcap. Let the energy of this incredible peak recharge your spirit!
After a well-earned break, we’ll descend for about an hour and a half, soaking in vivid vistas of colorful hills, herds of llamas and alpacas, and signs that Rainbow Mountain is near. By midday, we’ll arrive at Anantapata (4,750 m / 15,584 ft) for a delicious lunch amidst these stunning surroundings.
The trek continues with a two-hour climb to the Warmisaya Pass (4,985 m / 16,355 ft), where vibrant colors will leave you in awe. Finally, we’ll make a 45-minute descent to our campsite at Surinecocha (4,800 m / 15,748 ft), where a well-deserved rest awaits beneath a starry sky.

Day 2: Surinecocha - Rainbow Mountain - Red Valley Viewpoint - Llacto - Cusco
After a hearty breakfast to fuel the day, we’ll set out on a two-hour uphill trek to reach the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain (5,100 m / 16,732 ft). Take your time soaking in this incredible landscape—it’s truly one of nature’s masterpieces. From there, we’ll descend to the Red Valley viewpoint, where the vibrant reds of the mountains perfectly contrast with the lush green valleys below, a scene that feels almost surreal.
Gradually, we’ll make our way down the mountain, taking about an hour to reach Llacto (4,630 m / 15,190 ft), where we’ll enjoy a well-earned break. Here, we’ll bid farewell to the team that’s accompanied us on this unforgettable journey.
Next, a 1.5-hour car ride takes us to Andahuaylillas (3,122 m / 10,242 ft), home to the stunning “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.” After exploring this architectural gem, we’ll drive 20 minutes to Rumi Punku and then hike 45 minutes downhill to the Huacarpay wetlands (3,030 m / 9,940 ft). This tranquil spot, perfect for birdwatching, sets the stage for our final lunch, lovingly prepared by our talented chef.
With hearts full of memories, we’ll return to Cusco, arriving after a 1.5-hour drive, carrying the beauty and magic of this journey with us.
