Day 1: Cusco - Quiquijana - Combapata - Quehue - Qeswachaka Bridge - Four Lagoons
Start your day early, departing Cusco around 4 AM for the scenic 3-hour drive to the Canas province. After a breakfast stop, continue through the picturesque town of Yanaoca to reach Quehue (3,792 m/12,441 ft). From here, it’s a short drive to Qeswachaka, a 30-meter handwoven Inca bridge made entirely of braided grass. Cross the bridge and learn about its incredible history, including the annual rebuilding ceremony in June, where local communities come together to renew it through traditional rituals and celebrations.
Enjoy stunning canyon views and capture this moment on camera. After a boxed lunch by the bridge, the adventure continues along the route of the Four Lagoons: Pomacanchi, Ancascocha, Pampamarca, and Acopia. These sacred lakes are rich in natural beauty and local culture. End your day with a peaceful drive back to Cusco, carrying unforgettable memories of this unique journey through the Peruvian Andes.
