From Andean cloud forests to Alto Madre de Dios River. Lake Machuwasi balsa rafting, morning parrot clay licks, and nocturnal caiman safaris.

For accommodations in Cusco's historic center with vehicle access, our tourist transport arrives as close as legally permitted. Due to Cusco's colonial pedestrian alleys, if your hotel is on a narrow stone walkway, we wait at the nearest corner (usually 1/2 to 1 block away). We coordinate with you via WhatsApp/phone in advance, and our assistant welcomes you at the vehicle.
Lodging outside the center? If your hotel or Airbnb is outside the historic center perimeter, meeting is coordinated at a central landmark (such as Plaza Regocijo).
Need dedicated walking escort right to your door or pickup outside the historic center? Select Boutique Private in the booking card above.
Designed for travelers with limited time who still demand authentic, deep-nature immersion, this 3-day expedition explores the Cultural Zone of Manu National Park. Starting from Cusco, you cross high Andean passes and colonial Paucartambo before dropping over 3,000 vertical meters into the Amazon basin. Navigate the Alto Madre de Dios River by motorized canoe, glide on tranquil oxbow lakes seeking prehistoric hoatzins and horned screamers, and experience the sensory spectacle of morning parrot clay licks and night caiman walks—all led by licensed local naturalist guides.

Early 5:00 AM departure from Cusco traversing the Andean highlands. Visit the pre-Inca funerary chullpas of Ninamarca and colonial Paucartambo. Enter Manu National Park at Acjanaco Pass (3,600m), descending into the lush cloud forest of San Pedro. Observe the vibrant courtship display of the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (Peru's national bird), woolly monkeys, and cascading mountain streams. Settle into our comfortable riverside eco-lodge with dinner.
Breakfast at the lodge and short drive to Atalaya Port. Board a motorized wooden canoe down the scenic Alto Madre de Dios River, scanning riverbanks for capybaras, herons, and river turtles. Reach our deep-jungle lodge. In the afternoon, hike into Lake Machuwasi and navigate on traditional wooden balsa rafts to spot prehistoric hoatzin birds ('shanshos') and horned screamers. At dusk, embark on an evening safari looking for caimans and tree frogs.
At dawn, take a short boat ride to the parrot clay lick cliff. Watch dozens of green parrots and parakeets arrive to ingest mineral salts that detoxify their diet. After breakfast, take a guided interpretive hike exploring giant cedar and kapok trees and medicinal Amazon plants. Boat back to Atalaya Port where private transport awaits to ascend back through cloud forests, arriving in Cusco around 7:00 PM with hotel drop-off.
