Note: This tour includes 1 night in a local family house in a small village in the Andes (very basic accommodation – no private bathroom and no hot water). If you do not wish to stay at a local family house, it is possible to change the itinerary and stay for a night in Ollantaytambo town.

Day 1: ARRIVAL TO CUSCO
Day of leisure in Cusco. It is important to acclimatize to the altitude before beginning the more strenuous parts of the tour. Today you will visit the ruins of Saqsaywaman, the museum of Koricancha, and other notable parts of the historical city center, where you can see a mixture of colonial and Inca architecture.
On this day we will start the city tour at 9:00 am and will finish all the activities around 5 pm.

Day 2: PISAC - OLLANTAYTAMBO - PATACANCHA VALLEY
The Sacred Valley, known as Urubamba’s haven, offers breathtaking landscapes and an aura of positive energy. Explore Inca ruins, some of Peru’s most significant archaeological sites. Our tour focuses on Ollantaytambo and Pisac, two remarkable towns in this region.
Starting at 7:00 am, our journey begins with a visit to ‘The Sanctuary of the Animals,’ housing native Peruvian species like jungle birds, llamas, and condors. Then, delve into Pisac’s charming town and ancient ruins. Explore the vibrant market and uncover insights into the Inca Empire’s history.
Later, head to Patacancha Valley, engaging with local Andean communities for an immersive experience into their way of life.

Day 3: PATACANCHA VALLEY - OLLANTAYTAMBO
After breakfast at 7:30 am, embark on a leisurely trek through Patacancha Valley to Ollantaytambo, passing serene pre-Inca ruins in Pumamarca. Explore the Inca ruins and stroll through the charming streets of Ollantaytambo in the afternoon.
Later, catch the 7:00 pm train for a scenic 2-hour journey to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), arriving around 9:00 pm.

Day 4: MACHU PICCHU
Embark on a full-day journey to Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Begin with an early morning bus ride or a scenic trek from Aguas Calientes to the site’s entrance. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour delving into the rich history and cultural significance of the Inca Empire.
After the guided tour, explore the ruins at your own pace until closing time at 5:00 pm, with various options available for self-exploration. Return to Aguas Calientes by bus or on foot and catch a train to Ollantaytambo. Our transfer bus will then take you back to Cusco, arriving around 10:30 pm.

Day 5: OLLANTAYTAMBO - MARAS - MORAY - CHINCHERO - CUSCO
The day kicks off at 7:00 am with breakfast, leading to an exciting adventure. Explore ancient Inca sites, visit traditional salt mines, and admire mystical agricultural terraces. Engage in a textile lesson, connecting with the local community, and immerse yourself in Andean traditions and crafts.
Beginning with a 50-minute drive to the archaeological marvels of Moray, stroll through ruins for 45 minutes before heading 20 minutes to Maras. Discover the production of ‘chicha de jora’ and wander the town’s charming streets.
Next, a one-hour scenic walk leads to the salt mines of Salineras de Maras, a spectacle of over 3000 salt ponds dating back to the Inca era. Lastly, visit Chinchero for an engaging lesson on local textiles.
After a fulfilling day, return to Cusco around 6:00 pm, leaving ample time to explore the city’s vibrant dining and nightlife scene!

Day 6: DEPARTURE FROM CUSCO
Day of leisure in Cusco.
Depending on your departure time from Cusco you may have time to visit more of the city´s sites, browse the artesian markets or even stop for a very traditional lunch at the Mercado San Pedro!
