Day 1: CUSCO - HUMANTAY LAKE - SALKANTAYPAMPA
Your journey begins with an early hotel pick-up, followed by a hearty breakfast in Mollepata. At Soraypampa (3,900 meters above sea level), you’ll meet our expert horsemen who will prepare the camping equipment for the trek ahead. From there, we ascend to the breathtaking Humantay Lagoon (4,200 meters above sea level), a serene spot surrounded by towering peaks.
After exploring the lagoon, we return to Soraypampa for a delicious lunch prepared by our chef. As the day continues, we make our way to Salkantaypampa base camp, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Salkantay Mountain. Relax with afternoon tea and end the day with a memorable dinner under the stars.

Day 2: SALKANTAYPAMPA - LUCMABAMBA
Begin your day with a soothing cup of coca tea and a hearty breakfast surrounded by awe-inspiring mountain vistas. Within three hours, ascend to the iconic Salkantay Pass at 4,600 meters, the trek’s highest point. After taking in the panoramic views, head to Wayrac Machaq for a well-deserved lunch. The journey then transitions into the lush high jungle, where towering trees draped in bromeliads and orchids frame sparkling streams. Conclude the day with a descent to the serene second campsite, ready for another day of discovery.

Day 3: LUCMABAMBA - HYDROELECTRIC - AGUAS CALIENTES
Rise early to enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off on a mesmerizing 3-hour trek through the enchanting cloud forest. Take in the serene beauty of cascading waterfalls and flowing rivers as you descend towards Hydroelectric, where a well-earned lunch awaits. From there, continue the journey with another scenic 3-hour walk to Aguas Calientes. End the day with the comfort of a cozy hotel stay, preparing for the adventure ahead.

Day 4: AGUAS CALIENTES - CHACHABAMBA - WIÑAYWAYNA - AGUAS CALIENTES
At kilometer 104, the adventure begins with a hike toward the fascinating archaeological site of Chachabamba. The trail winds through lush landscapes, leading to the captivating ruins of Wiñay Wayna, where we’ll pause for a well-deserved lunch. From there, the journey continues to Inti Punku, the Sun Gate, offering a breathtaking first view of Machu Picchu. After taking in this awe-inspiring moment, we proceed to the control gate of Machu Picchu and board a bus that descends to Aguas Calientes. Here, we’ll settle in for the night, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the highlight of the following day: exploring the iconic Machu Picchu.

Day 5: MACCHU PICCHU - OLLANTAYTAMBO - CUSCO
Following breakfast, the journey continues with a bus ride to the iconic Machu Picchu citadel. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided exploration of its fascinating sectors, delving into its history and marveling at the awe-inspiring architecture over approximately two hours. After the tour, take a brief moment to soak in the atmosphere before descending by bus to Aguas Calientes. From there, you’ll board the train back to Ollantaytambo and return to Cusco.
Optional: For those seeking a thrilling perspective, climbing Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain can be arranged with advanced booking (at least three months prior). Additional cost: $70.
