Day 1: Cusco - Checacupe - Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain - The Rock Forest - Cusco
Your adventure begins at 4 AM with a private pickup from your hotel. After a two-hour drive, you’ll reach Checacupe to explore its iconic bridges from the Inca, colonial, and republican eras, along with a visit to the town’s famous church, historically linked to Tupac Amaru II’s struggle for independence.
Next, you’ll continue to the village of Palccoyo, where you’ll embark on a leisurely 50-minute hike to the viewpoint. Along the way, enjoy sightings of alpacas and friendly locals. Upon reaching the viewpoint, be captivated by the stunning Palccoyo mountains and the vibrant colored hills, as well as the majestic Ausangate peak (6,372 m / 20,900 ft) and the Red Valley’s Blood River.
Finally, you’ll visit the rock forest for unique geological photos before concluding the day with an outdoor meal against the breathtaking mountain scenery. Afterward, enjoy a relaxing drive back to your hotel in Cusco.
