Day 1: Cusco - Ccorao - Qoricocha Lake - Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay (sacred valley) - Cusco
Your adventure kicks off with a 7:00 am hotel pick-up, followed by a scenic drive to the village of Patabamba, nestled at 3,850 m / 12,631 ft. After a brief journey, we reach Qoricocha Lake, the starting point of our trek. From here, we ascend for 45 minutes to the Apacheta Pass, the highest point of the day at 4,200 m / 13,780 ft. The rest of the hike is mostly downhill as we make our way to Pukamarca. Continuing through green valleys, we’ll arrive at the ancient Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo, perched above the Sacred Valley at 3,600 m / 11,811 ft. After a guided tour of the archaeological site, including sacred temples, agricultural terraces, and Inca storehouses, we’ll enjoy a box lunch before descending to Lamay. From there, we’ll return to Cusco via private transport, giving you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the evening.
